The Big Tree
This is the Big Tree near BEML. It was a famous picnic spot when we were children. Most of our school picnics were here. It seemed a huge tree to us when we were kids. It doesn't look so big now. Most of us have fond memories of this picnic spot.
This is the Ala Mara. There is/was a small pond next to it - which was used for Ganesha immersion. Years back this area was very lonely, and there were rumours that the tree was haunted. Today, the place is full of shops and the tree seems to have lost its identity.
